Review

Clarisse is an “All-in” melee DPS who unleashes their full potential in the 1st half of a fight (probably the first of her kind). Her Passive 1 grants her <Desperate Will> for 25 seconds at the start of battle, which greatly increases her Skill DMG, Ignore DEF Reduction and ATK AMP stats. Both her Ultimate and Active Skill deal additional damage while this buff is active and inflict permanent DMG Taken Increase and Healing Reduction debuffs, respectively. Her Passive 2 increases her own ATK% and Critical Hit Rate.

Clarisse’s kit is straightforward - all of her skills are amplified in the first half of the fight. This gives Clarisse incredible amounts of frontloaded Damage output, which makes her a strong candidate for shorter fights. The Walls in Avalon Guild Raid and Star Reincarnation are good examples. She also shines bright in Adventure mode (especially regeneration-heavy bosses), provided she can stay alive and her damage output is sufficient. That is not to say she is completely useless after the buff wears off - the debuffs she applies are permanent and gives her a little bit of party utility.

Newer Players will run into a massive defensive investment requirement to fit her into their parties - speedy and sustained access to shields and healing is a good first requirement. As such, it is highly recommended that you have established a solid defensive lineup (high transcends on MLF, FKay and Lueira at least, for example) before rolling for Clarisse. She’s not going to help in every map and against some very tanky bosses in a very high level deficit situation (46-20 and 48-20 spring to mind) but should greatly reduce the DPS requirements to clear a good number of stages.

Clarisse becomes a vanilla DPS the moment her buff falls off and she is squishy since she has no sustain or damage mitigation. Clarisse is best paired with another DPS that can continue to carry the fight after her buff ends. However, Clarisse has good self-sufficiency as a DPS and should be able to find her place within the Meta.

Clarisse’s card, Pre-Ordained Defeat, functions as a massive personal damage amp in the 1st 25 seconds of the fight. It later becomes a solid support card that inflicts a DMG taken debuff on enemies. It is a solid card for Knight DPSes in general that play support roles in their teams, and a strong DPS card candidate for Clarisse for obvious reasons.
