Shock backline support built for arena control. She strips buffs, freezes basics, and pads party HP, then falls to a B-tier utility piece once PVE stops rewarding that package.

Overview

Strengths

  • Sun Blast at Transcend 5 is a 1096% Attack full wipe that also dispels every beneficial spell and blocks basic attacks for 4s.
  • Saintess is a permanent team HP +52%, and Dissolution adds Frozen Resistance +50% plus a 40% caster-HP shield on every frontliner.
  • Blessings of the Saintess clears all harmful spells and hands the party Additional Damage +10% for 10s on a 14s cooldown.

Weaknesses

  • PVE and Raid support sit at B. The kit does not amp Attack, crit, or burn windows the way dedicated PVE buffers do.
  • Brawl drops her to C; short fights punish the 36s ultimate cooldown and leave her as a cleanse bot.
  • Personal damage is incidental; Mechanical Crossbow Attack%/Crit DMG% still will not turn her into a carry.

Investment

Extra copies

Spend extras on Transcend before her card. Skill levels on the cleanse, the team HP passive, and the frontline shield move the needle more than another Manager's Dignity.

Transcend stop

Stop at Transcend 5. That is the full kit breakpoint for Saintess, Dissolution, and Sun Blast. Park there unless copies are already overflowing.

Review

Joan of Arc is a Shock Archer parked in the back row, and the kit is written for control and durability rather than damage. In PVP she is an S support. In story and raids she is a B utility piece. That split is the whole review.

Sun Blast is the arena opener. At Transcend 5 it hits every enemy for 1096% Attack, strips every beneficial spell on the field, and applies Prevent Attack for 4s so basics stop firing. Cooldown is 36s, which is long for PVE waves but fine when one clean ult wins a round. Pair that with Blessings of the Saintess: on a 14s cooldown she removes every harmful spell from the party and grants Additional Damage +10% for 10s. Cleanse plus a modest amp on a short cycle is why she stays relevant in structured PVP.

The passives are why she is worth investing at all. Saintess is a permanent team buff of HP +52%. Dissolution stacks Frozen Resistance +50% for everyone and, for front-formation allies, a shield equal to 40% of her HP for 10s. That shield scales with her own HP sheet, which is why the recommended accessory is Glory of the Empire (HP%) and the rune is Rune of Focus with HP% and Crit DMG%. Weapon is still Mechanical Crossbow on Attack% and Crit DMG% because Sun Blast is Attack-scaled; armor is Merlins Robe for Block% and Crit Res%.

Skill priority puts the passives first, Passive 2 = Passive 1 > Active = Ultimate, because the team HP and frontline shield are always on, while the ult is a timed swing. Synergy callout is Lancelot, who wants the HP pad and the front-row shield while he cycles HP-scaled swords. Card recommendation on this site is Manager's Dignity (Enya).

Where she fails the PVE test is amp density. Nothing in the kit raises party Attack, crit rate, or Burn uptime. A dedicated buffer or burn enabler will outscore her in raids even if Joan keeps people alive. Brawl's C rating follows from the same math: short skirmishes do not wait for a 36s ult, and the Additional Damage buff alone is not enough to carry a lane.

Build her as a control support, not a DPS Archer. Feed copies into Transcend through T5, lock the HP% accessory, and put her next to a frontliner who actually spends the shield. Do not pull her expecting Raid Support to climb past B without a roster that already needed cleanse and anti-freeze more than raw damage.
