Overview

Strengths

  • Unrelenting Strike, Failnaught hits all enemies for 760% Attack and roots for 4 seconds on a 38s cooldown.
  • Triangle Buster and Nature's Shackle both AoE root for 1.5s on 14s and 20s cycles, so control is not stuck on the ultimate.
  • Hyperfocus gives +88% Ranged Attack and +9% Critical Hit Rate, so she still chips while applying roots.

Weaknesses

  • Brawl Support sits at C. Short fights undervalue staggered root chains.
  • Personal DPS is secondary; without a root payoff partner she is just a soft AoE archer.
  • Only +9% crit rate from the kit, so her own damage still wants external crit help.

Investment

Extra copies

Chase the character card before Transcend. Support cards matter more than stacking her personal damage through early Transcend.

Transcend stop

Stop at T0. Most of the root kit is online at level 3 skills; further Transcend mostly pads her personal DPS, which is not why you slot her.

Tristan is a Nature archer in the back line filed as Support, not DPS. Every active skill applies Root. The account value is locking enemies so partners who deal bonus damage to Rooted targets, Vivien first among them, can cash out. Merlin is the other named synergy for sustain and amp around that plan.

Unrelenting Strike, Failnaught at Transcend 5 deals 760% of Attack to all enemies and roots them for 4 seconds, on a 38s cooldown. That is the long lock for burst windows. Skill priority still puts Passive 1 first because Hyperfocus is the permanent sheet, then treats Active 1, Ultimate, and Active 2 as equal. The roots are the product, not the raw damage numbers.

Triangle Buster deals 435% Attack to all enemies with a 1.5s root on a 14s cooldown. Nature's Shackle deals 478% Attack to all enemies with another 1.5s root on a 20s cooldown. Stagger them and the board spends a large share of the fight unable to act. That is why she holds A Support in PVE and Raids even though she is not a primary damage dealer.

Hyperfocus grants Ranged Attack +88% and Critical Hit Rate +9%. It keeps her contribution from being pure utility, but the crit rate line is small. Gear and buffers still decide whether her AoEs crit. She is not competing with dedicated DPS archers for the damage slot.

Gear listed here: Mechanical Crossbow (Attack % / Crit DMG %), Merlins Robe, Glory of the Empire (HP %), Rune of Focus (HP % / Crit DMG %). Cards lean support-side options such as Elgrad Sword Art Journal and Manager's Dignity rather than raw DPS cards. That matches the investment note: card first, Transcend stopped at T0 because level 3 skills already deliver the roots.

Root durations matter more than the Attack multipliers. Failnaught’s 4s lock opens a burst window; the two actives’ 1.5s locks are the glue between ultimates. Mis-timing them into the same second wastes uptime. Spread Triangle Buster and Nature's Shackle so Vivien’s Magecraft rider stays fed for as much of the fight as possible.

Tier list: A Support in PVE and Raids, C in Brawl, B in PVP. Structured content rewards the root chain. Brawl’s compressed timers do not. Slot her next to Vivien or anyone else who scales off Root, keep Transcend light at T0, and spend the duplicate budget on the card and on the partner who actually converts the locks into damage.
