Overview

Strengths

  • Dance of the Blue Moon is 1184% Attack to all enemies, Defense -14% for 10s, and 150% extra damage into Shocked foes.
  • Intimidation is a permanent team-wide Defense -10%, stacking with the ult shred for a real armor break.
  • Swordmaster locks +88% Attack and +15% crit rate so the Shock payoff has a finished sheet behind it.

Weaknesses

  • Moonlight Dance and the ult both lean on Shock for their bonus damage. Without a Shock applicator she is a generic cleave knight.
  • Active only hits enemies in front; backline clears still need the ult or a partner.
  • PVE / Brawl / PVP at A means she is strong but replaceable if your Shock package is incomplete.

Favor the character card before Transcend when copies compete. Card value comes first; then climb Transcend for the Defense shred and Shock multipliers.

Transcend stop

Stop at Transcend 5. Ult bonus damage, Intimidation, and Swordmaster all want the final ranks.

Ran is a Holy Knight in the front line built as a Shock payoff carry with a built-in Defense break. She is not a pure tank and not a blind AoE button. She wants Shocked enemies and then deletes them. If your roster cannot apply Shock reliably, she still contributes Intimidation, but she stops looking like an S-tier raid seat.

Dance of the Blue Moon at T5 is the headline: 1184% Attack to all enemies, Defense -14% for 10s, and 150% additional damage to Shocked targets, 33s cooldown. That is both the raid spike and the armor shred that feeds the rest of the party. Land it on a Shocked boss and the bonus damage line is a second payload on top of an already large AoE. Moonlight Dance, the active, hits all front enemies for 672% Attack every 10s and adds 90% bonus damage into Shock. Frontline-only active plus full-board ult is the usual knight pattern; Shock is what makes the multipliers matter. Without Shock, you still get a respectable 10s cleave and a big ult. You just lose the percentages that justify the raid S.

Swordmaster is the personal engine: Attack +88% and Critical Hit Rate +15% at T5. Intimidation is the team tax: Defense -10% on all enemies, always on. Stack Intimidation with the ult’s -14% and the enemy armor bar is meaningfully gone for the whole squad for those ten seconds, while the permanent -10% keeps working between ults. Skill priority Passive 1 = Passive 2 > Active = Ultimate matches that. Finish the Attack passive and the aura before chasing ult vanity ranks.

Gear named here: Fragarach (Attack %, Crit DMG %), Merlins Robe (Block %, Crit Res %), Glory of the Empire (HP %), Rune of Focus (Crit DMG %, HP %). Crit damage on weapon and rune is how Swordmaster’s crit rate turns into real clears; HP% keeps the frontliner alive long enough to recycle Moonlight Dance. Synergy partners Lua, Dian Cecht, and Eva cover Shock application and sustain so her bonus damage lines are not dead text. Cards Elgrad Sword Art Journal (Lua), her own Moonlight Swordplay, and Lingering Allure (Anessa) fit the same plan.

Tiers: S DPS in Raids, A in PVE, Brawl, and PVP. Raid bosses that sit in Shock make her look like a top frontliner; content without Shock drops her to “good Holy cleave with a Defense aura.” Investment is card-first, then Transcend 5 so Intimidation, Swordmaster, and the Shock multipliers are fully online. Bring a Shock source or accept the A-tier ceiling.
